JAMB Extends 2026 Direct Entry Registration To May 8

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has extended the deadline for 2026 Direct Entry registration to May 8, offering candidates extra time amid a surge in applications.

In a statement by its spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin, the board said the move is aimed at ensuring no eligible candidate is excluded from the admission process.

To ease congestion at registration points, JAMB also approved five additional centres, including facilities at the University of Ilorin, Bells University of Technology, Olabisi Onabanjo University, Federal College of Education (Special) Oyo, and Human Development Initiatives in Lagos, which begins operations on April 30.

The board added that its offices nationwide, alongside Professional Registration and Testing Centres, remain open to support seamless registration.

JAMB urged prospective candidates to take advantage of the extension, reaffirming its commitment to expanding access to tertiary education.
