Afrobeats star Tiwa Savage has said talent alone is not enough to succeed in the music industry, stressing the need for access, structure, and opportunity.

Speaking on her Tiwa Savage Music Foundation, the singer said the initiative is designed to support emerging African creatives and broaden their understanding of the industry.

“Music changed my life, but talent alone isn’t enough, especially when access is limited,” she said.

Savage explained that her goal goes beyond discovering artistes, aiming instead to develop professionals across the music value chain, including producers, executives, and industry leaders.

The programme, run in partnership with Berklee College of Music, will culminate in a grand finale concert in Lagos featuring over 100 participants.

The event is scheduled to hold at the Wole Soyinka Centre for Culture and the Creative Arts, with Darey Art Alade and Kie Kie as hosts.

Savage added that success for the foundation would be measured by its long-term impact, particularly in empowering young creatives to transform the industry.
