US Seizes Iranian Ship As Trump Issues Fresh Threats

Published

Tensions between Washington and Tehran escalated sharply after Donald Trump claimed US forces intercepted and seized an Iranian-flagged cargo vessel attempting to breach a naval blockade.

According to Trump, the ship was warned to stop in the Gulf of Oman but refused, prompting US marines to disable it and take it into custody.

The development comes amid renewed uncertainty over diplomatic efforts, as Iran’s state media denied reports of planned talks with US officials in Pakistan. A US delegation, reportedly led by Vice-President JD Vance, is still expected to travel for discussions.

Trump also issued fresh warnings, threatening strikes on Iran’s critical infrastructure, including power plants and bridges, if negotiations fail.
