Former Ekiti State governor Ayodele Fayose on Tuesday held a private meeting with the Olubadan of Ibadan, Rashidi Ladoja, in Ibadan amid rising political tension in Oyo State.
The meeting, which lasted about 30 minutes, comes against the backdrop of Fayose’s earlier allegations that Governor Seyi Makinde was plotting to dethrone the monarch—claims that have fueled controversy across the state.
Speaking briefly before the closed-door session, Fayose said he was in Ibadan to show support for the traditional institution.
“I am in Ibadan to identify with the traditional institution. The truth about the whole saga will soon be revealed,” he stated.
Details of the meeting were not immediately disclosed.
