ADC Refutes Resignation Rumours, Affirms David Mark’s Leadership

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has strongly denied reports suggesting that its National Chairman, Senator David Mark, has resigned from his position.

In a statement released by the Media Office of the National Chairman, the party described the claims as “false, malicious, and an insidious fabrication” allegedly spread by what it called “puerile, weak, and inconsiderate propagandists.”

The ADC emphasized that Senator Mark remains firmly in charge of the party and has no intention of stepping down.

“The assertion that Senator David Mark has stepped down exists only in the warped imagination of those bent on spreading falsehood and creating confusion within our party,” the statement read.

Party officials reiterated that the ADC leadership is united, focused, and determined to strengthen democratic values while providing credible leadership to Nigerians. They warned against attempts to destabilize the party, suggesting that such efforts are motivated by fear of the ADC’s growing influence ahead of the 2027 general elections.

“The ADC, its leadership, and the majority of Nigerians are unbending in their collective determination to resist any plot aimed at undermining Nigeria’s multi-party democracy or imposing a one-party system,” the statement added.

The party urged Nigerians to disregard the rumours and remain confident in the stability of its leadership under Senator David Mark.
