Kebbi Launches 2026 Dry Season Farming, Distributes Ramadan Palliatives

The Kebbi State Government has officially launched the 2026 Dry Season Farming and distribution of Ramadan palliatives to the general public at the Haliru Abdu Multi-Purpose Stadium, Birnin Kebbi.

The initiative, led by Governor Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris (Kauran Gwandu), reinforces the state’s strong commitment to agricultural expansion and social support for citizens.

The Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Senator Abubakar Kyari, attended the event in solidarity with the state government and its farmers.

The programme underscores Kebbi State’s continued leadership in agricultural production and its proactive support to farmers through the provision of critical inputs ahead of the dry season. It also reflects the government’s dedication to easing the burden on households through the timely distribution of Ramadan palliatives.

In his remarks, the Minister emphasized the strategic importance of food security, stating, “A nation that cannot feed its people cannot claim true sovereignty.” He commended the Kebbi State Government for aligning its agricultural drive with national priorities under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

He further noted, “Food security is not just an agricultural imperative; it is the foundation of our economic strength and national stability.”

The initiative signals renewed momentum for increased productivity, expanded value addition, and improved welfare for the people of Kebbi State.
