Another Blaze Hits Kano Market Days After Singer Inferno

An early morning fire on Friday destroyed about 50 shops at Kwalemar Fatima Simra Market in Dakata, Nassarawa LGA of Kano State.

The incident comes days after a prolonged blaze ravaged the popular Singer Market.

Chairman of the market’s fire committee, Dauda Haruna, said the affected shops were mostly small-scale businesses involved in peanut oil refining and plastic recycling.

He added that emergency services were alerted immediately, though the fire was still burning as of press time.

The Kano State Fire Service had yet to issue an official statement on the incident.
