Funke Akindele’s Behind The Scenes Grosses N1.77bn, Tops 2025 Nollywood Box Office

Multi-award-winning actress and producer Funke Akindele has set a new record at the Nigerian box office with her latest film, Behind The Scenes, grossing N1.767 billion in just four weeks, making it the highest-earning Nollywood movie of 2025.

The film’s distributor, FilmOne Entertainment, noted that it broke five opening-weekend records, including the highest single-day gross on Boxing Day with N129.5 million.

The movie, which had advanced screenings on December 10–11, features an all-star cast including Scarlet Gomez, Iyabo Ojo, Destiny Etiko, Tobi Bakre, and Uche Montana.

This marks Akindele’s third film to surpass the N1 billion milestone, following A Tribe Called Judah and Everybody Loves Jenifa, further cementing her status as one of Nollywood’s most successful filmmakers.
