Court keeps Malami, Son In Kuje Prison Till Jan 7

A Federal High Court in Abuja has ordered former Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami (SAN), and his son to remain in Kuje Prison until January 7, when their bail applications will be ruled on.

Justice Emeka Nwite gave the order on Friday after hearing arguments on their bail requests in the N9 billion money-laundering case filed by the Federal Government.

Malami, his son Abubakar Abdulaziz, and Hajia Bashir Asabe of Ramadiya Property Ltd are standing trial and have pleaded not guilty to all charges.

The judge said he would deliver his ruling on January 7 due to his workload as a vacation judge.
