American rapper DDG has challenged Western portrayals of Nigeria as unsafe, describing them as misleading and exaggerated.
The hip-hop star, who is currently vacationing in Lagos, said Nigeria is far less dangerous than the United States, particularly in terms of gun violence and gangsterism.
In a video message, DDG noted that while Nigeria has security challenges, they do not compare to the level of violence common in the US. He encouraged foreigners to visit the country and experience it firsthand.
DDG also dismissed claims that Nigerian food is unhealthy, saying he found it nutritious and praised local dishes, especially jollof rice.
