Chimamanda Adichie Denies UNN Visiting Professor Appointment

Renowned author Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie has denied reports that she was appointed a visiting professor at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN).

Earlier reports claimed UNN Vice-Chancellor Prof. Simon Ortuanya appointed Adichie alongside Prof. Kevin Urama and Prof. James Robinson as visiting professors.

Adichie’s team clarified that she had not received any such offer and was not in contact with the university regarding a professorship. Her communications officer, Omawumi Ogbe, described the reports as false and urged media outlets to remove them to prevent the spread of misinformation.

While Adichie holds UNN in high regard, the claim of her appointment was unverified and inaccurate.
