Naira Appreciates By ₦7.93 Against Dollar At Official FX Market

The Nigerian currency, the naira, gained against the American dollar at the official window on Monday.

At the official window, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) foreign exchange data showed that the naira closed at N1,456.56/$1, as against the N1,464.49/$1 it traded on Friday.

This represents an appreciation of N7.93 for the local currency against the American greenback.

At the black market, the Nigerian currency gained N20 against the American greenback to trade at N1,490/$1, as against the previous day’s rate of N1,510/$1.

In the same vein, the local currency gained N5 against the British Pound to trade at N2,000/£1 as against the previous day’s rate of N2,005£1.

The naira closed flat against the Canadian dollar to trade at N1,200/CA$1, the same as the previous day’s rate of N1,200/CA$1.

Similarly, the naira gained N5 against the Euro to trade at ₦1,730/€1, as against the previous day’s rate of ₦1,735/€1.
