Schools In Bauchi To Reopen Following Improved Security

The Bauchi State government has announced that all schools will reopen on January 4, 2026, following closures in November due to insecurity.

Education Commissioner Dr. Muhammed Lawal said the decision comes after improvements in the security situation and approval from key stakeholders, including principals and school proprietors.

Examinations scheduled before the closure will be held during the first week of resumption.

Three Unity Colleges will also reopen, in line with federal directives. Lawal urged parents to ensure timely student attendance, noting that enhanced security measures are in place to protect students, teachers, and staff.
