Wike Still In PDP, Fighting For Justice — Aide

The Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications to the FCT Minister, Lere Olayinka, has reaffirmed that Nyesom Wike remains a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Speaking on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily on Wednesday, Olayinka said Wike’s actions were aimed at ensuring the PDP respects its constitution, not destroying the party.

He argued that several issues raised by Wike, including the recognition of Umar Damagum as national chairman and the Supreme Court ruling on Samuel Anyanwu’s position were later accepted by the party after initial resistance.

Olayinka also faulted the PDP for alleged irregularities ahead of its November 15 national convention in Ibadan, noting that even key party figures were unaware of where to obtain nomination forms.

He dismissed claims that Wike was behind the party’s internal crisis, citing the example of former Jigawa governor Sule Lamido, who was denied access to his paid nomination form, asking, “Did Wike cause that?”
