Tinubu Swears In Doro, Udeh As Ministers, Resumes FEC Meetings

President Bola Tinubu on Thursday swore in Dr Bernard Doro and Dr Kingsley Udeh as new ministers, restoring cabinet representation for Plateau and Enugu states.

The brief ceremony took place inside the Council Chamber of the State House, Abuja, shortly before the start of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting, the first since July 2025.

Doro, a UK-trained public health expert, replaces Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, who resigned in July after becoming APC National Chairman. Udeh, former Enugu State Attorney-General, replaces Uche Nnaji, who resigned in October amid certificate controversies.

Their swearing-in brings Tinubu’s cabinet size to 48 ministers.

At the meeting, the Coordinating Minister of the Economy and Minister of Finance, Wale Edun, announced that Nigeria’s $2.35bn Eurobond was oversubscribed by 453 per cent, attracting $13bn in orders— a sign of renewed investor confidence.

Edun said the government would continue reforms to attract investment, review tariffs and import restrictions, and strengthen fiscal discipline.

President Tinubu welcomed the outcome, saying Nigeria remains committed to reforms, security, and inclusive economic growth despite political challenges.

“The task ahead is to defeat terrorism and deliver a peaceful, inclusive, and prosperous Nigeria,” he said.
