Nigeria Commences Full-Scale Review Of National Civil Aviation Security Programme

Stakeholders in the Nigeria Aviation and Security ecosystem have commenced a full-scale review of the National Civil Aviation Security Programme (NCASP) to align with the International Civil Aviation Organization’s (ICAO) global best practices.

This move became manifest at the five-day Nigeria Aviation Security (AVSEC) Workshop and Exercise the theme: “Airport and Airspace Security: Functions of National Security,” commencing on 13th -17th October, 2025 at the NCAA Annex, Lagos Regional Office, Ikeja.

The high-profile workshop, jointly organized by the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) and the Nigerian Air Force is aimed at bridging existing gaps in the system and fostering better coordination among the various security agencies operating at the various airports.
