The European Union has condemned Sunday’s Israeli drone strike in southern Lebanon that killed five people, including three children.
EU spokesperson Anitta Hipper said the attack violated the ceasefire agreement and urged full implementation of the truce, calling for Lebanon’s state authority over weapons to be supported.
The November 2024 ceasefire ended a year-long conflict between Hezbollah and Israel that left over 4,000 dead.
Israel was meant to withdraw from southern Lebanon by January 2025 but still holds five border outposts.
