The Lagos chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has slammed former President Olusegun Obasanjo for describing President Bola Tinubu as “competing with Buhari in incompetence.”
APC spokesman Seye Oladejo, in a statement Wednesday, called Obasanjo’s remark “laughable and hypocritical,” accusing him of leaving behind corruption, debt, and the failed third-term bid that nearly plunged Nigeria into crisis.
Oladejo said Tinubu’s bold reforms from subsidy removal to foreign exchange overhaul show decisive leadership, not incompetence.
“Obasanjo’s bitterness is well-known. He cannot control this government and resents that Nigeria has moved on from his brand of do-or-die politics,” he added.
The APC urged the former president to show restraint, insisting Tinubu remains focused on reforms, recovery, and national renewal.
