FRSC Sector Commander Visits NYSC Anambra, Calls For Stronger Collaboration

The Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Anambra State, Corps Commander Joyce Nnennaya Alexander, has paid a courtesy visit to the State Coordinator of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Mrs Pauline Ojisua  , at the State Secretariat in Awka.

Speaking during the visit, Commander Alexander emphasised the importance of inter-agency collaboration, stressing that “the job cannot be done alone.”

She noted that the FRSC has a long-standing historical connection with the NYSC and called for deeper cooperation, especially through the active participation of Corps members in the Road Safety Community Development Service (CDS) group.

The Sector Commander highlighted the role of the FRSC in public enlightenment and traffic control, and requested more opportunities to engage Corps members during orientation courses.

“We would like to be given the platform to speak to Corps members in camp so they can serve as road safety ambassadors wherever they are posted,” she said.

In her response, Mrs Ojisua assured the FRSC of NYSC’s readiness to strengthen existing ties, promising that the Scheme would support road safety advocacy in every possible way. “Our Corps members are always ready to lend their voices,” she affirmed.

The FRSC delegation included Deputy Corps Commander C.A. Oliseh, Senior Route Commander N.E. Nwankwo, Senior Road Marshal Assistant A.O. Okonkwo, and Road Marshal Assistant I O.O. Chukwu.

The NYSC team present comprised Camp Director Bamidele Isiaka, Head of Quality Control Mr Adama Samuel, Head of Platoon Mrs Chioma Obu, and Head of the Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) programme Mr Ogiator Augustine.

The visit ended with mutual assurances of continued partnership to promote road safety awareness and youth engagement in Anambra State.
