Netanyahu Warns Tehran Residents To Evacuate Amid Israeli Strikes

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday issued a stark warning to residents of Tehran, urging them to evacuate as Israel escalated its military operations in Iran.

Speaking during a visit to an Israeli airbase, Netanyahu declared, “We are on the path to achieving our two main objectives: eliminating the nuclear threat and neutralizing Iran’s missile capabilities. If we gain control of Tehran’s airspace, we will strike the regime’s strategic targets.”

He accused Iran of targeting civilians in Israel and warned: “To the citizens of Tehran, leave the area now. We will take action.”

His statement came as explosions rocked the western part of Tehran, with reports of airstrikes also hitting the east of the city. Israeli forces issued an “urgent warning” to residents of a major 30-square-kilometre district, calling for immediate evacuation.

The targeted area includes diplomatic missions, upscale shopping centres, and high-end residential neighbourhoods home to an estimated 300,000 people.

Israel’s tactic of issuing mass evacuation warnings has drawn sharp criticism during its war in Gaza, and Monday’s announcement marks a significant escalation in its confrontation with Iran.
