Nasarawa Has No Hand In Benue Killings – Governor Sule

Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule, has firmly denied claims that the state harbours bandits responsible for attacks in Benue State.

In a statement released Wednesday by his senior special assistant on public affairs, Peter Ahemba, Sule dismissed allegations made by former Benue lawmaker, Hon. Mark Gbillah, who accused Nasarawa of sheltering attackers of Benue farmers during an AIT programme.

The statement highlighted Governor Sule’s consistent collaboration with Benue and other neighbouring states on regional security, especially through the North-Central Governors Forum, which he chairs. 

It noted his active role in convening security meetings and building cross-border synergy to tackle insecurity.

“It is malicious to suggest that Nasarawa, under Governor Sule’s leadership, supports or harbours criminals. These claims aim to tarnish the state’s image and disrupt inter-state relations,” the statement said.

The governor urged the public to disregard Gbillah’s remarks and focus on unity, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to peace and regional cooperation.
