Nigerian music legend 2Baba has offered fans a rare and heartfelt glimpse into his personal world, in a recent sit-down with B2G Network, where he spoke about wellness, public perception, and maintaining a sense of purpose amidst fame.
Opening up about how he keeps his balance, the award-winning artist shared his simple approach to self-care: “I drink water a lot and I mind my business a lot,” he said with a knowing smile. “I don’t have any die-hard routine, no gym. Once in a while I jog, and when I perform on stage, that’s my exercise. I just try to rest as much as I can.”
On a deeper note, 2Baba reflected on life’s challenges and the role of personal responsibility. “Part of the answer is accepting responsibility for your actions. That is the key,” he stressed. “You don’t have to deceive yourself—when you do, na yourself you dey deceive.”
The legendary artist also got candid about the emotional weight that often comes with life in the public eye. “Sometimes when people talk, you become the subject of jokes and malicious comments. It hurts, it gets to you,” he admitted. “But you have to understand that this is the way of the world. Try and grow some thick skin.”
Despite the criticism, 2Baba remains focused on his journey, saying with quiet conviction: “I just tell myself, ‘I know where I’m going is bigger than all these things.’”
With over two decades in the music industry, 2Baba continues to inspire not only with his timeless sound but also with his wisdom, humility, and resilience.
