Air Algerie Gets Foreign Carrier Permit, To Commence Flight Operations To Nigeria April 6

The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has granted Air Algerie, Algeria’s national airline, a Foreign Carrier Operating Permit (FCOP), facilitating improved air connectivity between Nigeria and Algeria.

In a post on X, the NCAA announced that the permit was presented during a meeting between Chris Najomo, director-general (DG) of the agency, and Hocine Mezoued, the ambassador of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria.

According to the authority, the discussion focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation in the aviation sector.

“A key highlight of the meeting was the presentation of a Foreign Carrier Operating Permit (FCOP) to Air Algérie, the national airline of Algeria, enabling expanded connectivity, fostering economic ties, and strengthening mutual partnership,” NCAA said.

“Additionally, approval was granted for a new flight route connecting Algeria-Nigeria-Douala, Cameroon.”

The authority added that the inaugural flight on the route, operated by Air Algerie, is scheduled to commence on April 6, marking a new era of strengthened ties and improved air travel between Nigeria and Algeria.
