Gunmen Attack Church In Delta, Shoot Pastor, Abduct Six Worshippers

A group of unidentified gunmen stormed Elyon Paradise Ministry Church in Asagba Ogwashi, Aniocha South Local Government Area of Delta State, during a night vigil over the weekend.

The assailants shot the church’s pastor, Apostle Divine Omodia, and kidnapped six worshippers.

The Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, Bright Edafe, confirmed the incident on Sunday, stating that security forces have launched a search operation.

“A rescue team is currently in the bush on their trail,” Edafe said.

Witnesses reported that the attackers not only shot the pastor but also severed two of his fingers before escaping with their hostages to an unknown location.

As of now, the kidnappers have not reached out to the church or the victims’ families with any ransom demands.

The injured pastor was rushed to a hospital, where doctors are working to save his life.

Security agencies continue their efforts to locate the abducted worshippers and apprehend those responsible for the attack.
