CP Azare Applauds His Men For Freeing Kidnapped Victim In A’Ibom

Baba Azare, The Commissioner of Police in Akwa Ibom State has hailed the operatives of his Command for rescuing a kidnap victim and recovering one Lexus RX 350 SUV, this was conveyed in a statement issued by The PPRO of The Command, DSP Timfon John.

According to the statement, the victim was rescued during a tactical operation in Ikot Ekpene local government area. She said operatives of the command acting on intelligence report swung into action and and a gun battle between them and the kidnappers ensued, the kidnappers fled with severe bullet wounds but the victim was unhurt.

DSP John said that the operation is part of a sustained effort to combat crime and ensure the safety of residents of Akwa Ibom State:

“On February 13, 2025, based on a report that a man (name withheld) was kidnapped along Okop Eto Road and taken to an unknown destination by the kidnappers.

“Operatives of the command based on credible intelligence immediately swung into action, engaged the kidnappers in a gun duel. The hoodlums, overwhelmed by superior firepower, fled with severe gunshot injuries, leaving the victim unharmed.

“The victim was rescued unhurt, his vehicle recovered and has since been reunited with his family.” The statement read in part.

She added that efforts are in top gear to apprehend the fleeing hoodlums as investigation is ongoing to recover weapons used in the crime:

“The Commissioner of Police, Akwa Ibom State Command, CP Baba Mohammed Azare, fsi, commended the officers for their swift response and assured residents that the Command remains resolute in its fight against criminal elements in the state. He urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the nearest police station.” The statement concluded.
