The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd.) has debunked recent allegations suggesting that it supplies low-standard Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), assuring Nigerians of the high quality of its fuel.
Contrary to initial claims that all PMS products would be sourced exclusively from the Dangote Refinery, NNPC Ltd. clarified that its fuel supply chain maintains strict quality control measures, regardless of the source.
In a statement by its Chief Corporate Communications Officer, Olufemi Soneye, the company dismissed a viral video alleging that NNPC fuel does not last, describing it as baseless, misleading, and lacking professional credibility.
“NNPC reaffirms that its fuel is carefully formulated with one of the best compositions, ensuring optimal efficiency, durability, and environmental sustainability for consumers,” Soneye stated.
He emphasized that a substantial portion of PMS sold at NNPC retail stations, particularly in Lagos; where the misleading video originated—is sourced from the Dangote Refinery, a key partner in local production and energy security.
Soneye condemned the video as a deliberate attempt by economic saboteurs to misinform the public and damage NNPC Ltd.’s reputation.
“We will not tolerate deliberate misinformation designed to undermine our operations and mislead Nigerians,” he warned.
He urged Nigerians to disregard misleading content and rely on verified sources for accurate information.
“NNPC Ltd. remains steadfast in its mission to ensure fuel availability, affordability, and quality for all Nigerians while maintaining global industry standards,” Soneye concluded.
However, the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd.) has issued a warning that it will take legal action against the creators of a viral video alleging that its petrol has a short lifespan in vehicles.
“This misleading video represents yet another desperate attempt by economic saboteurs to misinform the public and tarnish NNPC Ltd.’s reputation.
“We will not tolerate deliberate misinformation designed to undermine our operations and mislead Nigerian the.
