Ribadu Blasts Canada Over Visa Denial For Nigerian Military Chiefs

National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, has strongly criticized the Canadian government for denying visas to Nigeria’s Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, and other senior military officers.

Speaking at the National Association of the Institute for Security Studies’ annual lecture in Abuja on Thursday, Ribadu described the move as “disrespectful” and bluntly stated that Canada “can go to hell.”

The visa snub was revealed by Gen. Musa, who explained that he and his delegation were invited to an event honoring war veterans but were left stranded after some members were denied entry.

“It’s very disappointing. This is a reminder that we must stand on our own and refuse to be taken for granted,” Musa said.

Backing the CDS, Ribadu urged Nigeria to focus on strengthening itself rather than seeking validation from foreign nations.

“Even though it’s painful and disrespectful, we are strong. It’s time to fix our country,” he declared.

The incident has sparked fresh debates on Nigeria’s diplomatic relations and the need for self-reliance in global engagements.
