Nigerian Idol Owes Me Prize Money 10 Years After Win – K-Peace

Kunle Ogunrombi, popularly known as K-Peace and the winner of Nigerian Idol Season 5, has accused the show’s organizers of failing to pay his prize money, even a decade after his victory.

Speaking on the latest episode of the Honest Bunch Podcast with Nedu Wazobia, K-Peace expressed frustration over the unfulfilled promises made by the competition.

The singer, who won the Etisalat-sponsored reality show in 2015, revealed that despite the public announcement of a ₦7.5 million cash prize, a brand-new car, and a two-week trip to Dubai, he received nothing.

“I came out of Nigerian Idol with zero naira in my account,” he lamented.

In a viral video, he further stated, “As a Nigerian Idol winner, I had to walk around Lagos for interviews without food in my stomach, despite supposedly winning ₦7.5 million.

They told me they were still branding the car, but what they announced on national TV was that I won ₦7.5 million, a brand-new car, and a trip to Dubai. I went through hell after winning the show.”

The Nigerian Idol talent show has yet to respond to these allegations.
