Funke Akindele Recalls Borrowing Clothes To Look Classy In Early Movie Roles

Nollywood star and box office sensation Funke Akindele has opened up about her humble beginnings, revealing that she used to borrow clothes to appear classy on movie sets.

During her vacation in Ghana with best friend Eniola Badmus and skit maker Kamo State, Akindele shared videos on Snapchat reflecting on her early struggles in the industry.

She credited fellow actresses Iyabo Ojo and Tayo Odueke, popularly known as Sikiratu Sindodo, for playing significant roles in her rise to fame.

Akindele recalled how Sikiratu Sindodo lent her stylish outfits to help her look presentable, while Iyabo Ojo often stood up for her and made sure she was noticed by producers.

Mimicking one of Iyabo Ojo’s reactions to a past rejection on a movie set, Akindele humorously relived those moments, emphasizing the importance of support and perseverance in the entertainment industry.

Recently, Akindele also spoke about the challenges she faced on her way to becoming Nollywood’s box office queen. She encouraged her followers to stay resilient and inspire the next generation of women.
