Speed Darlington Released After Two Months In Police Custody

Controversial Nigerian rapper, Darlington Achakpo, popularly known as Speed Darlington, has regained his freedom after spending two months in police detention.

His lawyer announced the news via Instagram, expressing gratitude to those who contributed to his release.

“Delighted to announce that our client, Mr. Darlington Achakpo aka Speed Darlington, has regained his freedom after two months of illegal incarceration,” the lawyer wrote.

He also assured that legal action would be taken to seek justice for the rapper’s alleged wrongful detention and mistreatment by the Nigerian police.

Speed Darlington was arrested on November 27, 2024, during a performance in Owerri, Imo State.

Reports suggest that his arrest was linked to an alleged verbal attack on Afrofusion star Burna Boy, whose real name is Damini Ogulu.

The rapper has since expressed his appreciation to supporters and legal representatives who stood by him throughout the ordeal.
