DJ Big N Reveals How He Survived Robbery, Gunshot Attack In South Africa

Popular Nigerian DJ, Nonso Temisan Ajufo, known as DJ Big N, has shared his harrowing experience of surviving a robbery and gunshot attack in Johannesburg, South Africa.

In an emotional Instagram post on January 21, 2025, DJ Big N recounted the traumatic events of January 12, when a night out with friends turned into a life-changing ordeal.

He revealed that while heading to a club with an acquaintance, their car was ambushed at a traffic light by six armed men wielding automatic rifles.

 In the chaos, he was shot in the leg while struggling to remove his jewelry, which the attackers demanded at gunpoint.

“I tried to escape but got shot in the leg. One of the robbers put a rifle to my head, demanding my watch and other valuables,” he recalled.

Despite heavy bleeding, he managed to get to a hospital where doctors described his survival as miraculous.

Reflecting on the incident, DJ Big N expressed gratitude for his life and acknowledged how the experience reshaped his perspective on material possessions and life’s true value.

“I lost a lot of valuables that day, but I realized material things mean nothing. Life is fragile, and validation is meaningless. God gave me another chance, and I’m committed to living authentically,” he stated.

Despite the traumatic event, the DJ reassured fans that he is recovering well and holds no grudge against South Africa, saying, “I visit, I don’t judge.”

He concluded by expressing appreciation for the support and prayers he received, revealing that he had already stopped using crutches and was healing fast.
