“I Have No Regret” – Suspect Arrested For Girlfriend’s Murder

Timileyin Ajayi, 32, has been remanded in the custody of the Nasarawa State Police Command over the gruesome murder of 24-year-old corps member Salome Adaidu.

Adaidu, serving in Abuja, was allegedly killed during a visit to Ajayi’s residence in the Papalana area of New Karshi, Nasarawa State.

Police arrested Ajayi on January 12 while attempting to dispose of Adaidu’s severed head.

Ajayi admitted to the crime during an interview, stating it was unplanned but driven by jealousy. “I killed her because we don’t have each other all the time,” he said. “I saw her chats with other guys on her phone. That was why I decided.”

When asked if he regretted his actions, Ajayi declared, “I don’t have any regrets because life is reciprocal.”

Adaidu’s family denied knowing Ajayi. Her elder sister, Esther, said, “We don’t know him. We have never seen him until we were informed he murdered and dismembered our sister.”

Her uncle, Samson Adaidu, described the crime as horrifying. “He butchered her into more than 50 pieces. It looked like he was preparing the body for consumption,” he said.

Police Public Relations Officer SP Ramhan Nansel assured the public of justice. “Upon completion of the investigation, he will be arraigned in court,” Nansel said, calling for anyone with additional complaints against Ajayi to come forward.
