“No Artist Has Denied Stealing My Songs” – Blackface

Nigerian singer Blackface has reaffirmed his claims about colleagues allegedly stealing his intellectual property, stating that none of those he has accused has ever denied the allegations.

In a recent interview with TVC, the former Plantashun Boiz member revealed that many artists borrow his “vibes” because they admire his creativity but fail to give him proper credit.

“People jack my vibes. They love them. It’s not their fault. If I was not me, I would be jacking me too,” Blackface remarked. He further explained, “All my songs are being jacked because when you release a song, it becomes a published work. The songs are all registered. Was it published before your work?”

Blackface dismissed the idea that his accusations were baseless, insisting the practice is unethical.

“So many Nigerian artists have jacked my songs. And these people that I’ve complained about, they have never for once denied it. That alone shows there’s an iota of truth in what I’m saying,”* he asserted.

Blackface has consistently advocated for proper crediting of artists’ works, emphasizing the importance of intellectual property rights in the Nigerian music industry.
