Dayo Amusa Shares Emotional Journey Of Battling Depression, Infertility

Nollywood actress Dayo Amusa has opened up about her struggles with infertility, revealing how years of heartbreak, failed treatments, and personal loss ultimately led to her becoming a mother in 2024.

In a deeply personal Instagram post, the actress recounted the challenges she faced, including three miscarriages, a diagnosis of uterine myomatosis in 2015, and multiple failed IVF attempts.

 Despite doctors recommending the removal of her womb, Amusa opted for surgery to remove the tumors, hoping to conceive naturally.

Her journey was further complicated by the collapse of her relationship, with her then-partner’s infidelity and impatience adding to her emotional burden.

The separation left her battling depression, withdrawing from her career, and struggling with her mental health.

However, her mother’s unwavering support and advice to relocate to the United States in 2021 became a turning point. The change of environment helped her find healing and a renewed sense of purpose.

By December 2024, Amusa’s prayers were answered when she welcomed her first child, a baby boy. Reflecting on her journey, she wrote:

“To anyone struggling, please know you are not alone. You did nothing to deserve the challenges you face, and your feelings are valid. God will rewrite your story as He did mine.”
