At 1st Anniversary, Group Vows To Promote Baking As Form Of Self Expression, Cultural Heritage

A group of prestigious bakers under the aegis of Alagbado Bakers Forum, (ABF), Lagos State over the weekend celebrated its first anniversary with a promise to promote the art of baking as a form of self-expression and cultural heritage”

The event took place at the prestigious Fara Hotels and Suites, Lagos and had in attendance notable figures in the confectionery business in the state like Mrs Bushrah Adeola Adelakun-Adeniji, CEO, CakesByBusrah; Mrs Sidikat Fadekemi Oseni; and Mrs Blessing Okojie Eze, a Human Rights Activist amongst others.

Speaking at the event, Temitope Bodunkale, the Convener of the event and Founder, ABF went down memory lane on the purpose of the group and the impact achieved in just a year of its existence.

“A year ago, we embarked on this amazing journey with a shared passion for baking, a dream to create delectable treats, and a vision to foster a community of like-minded individuals. Little did we know that this small seed we planted would blossom into a thriving garden of culinary creativity.

“Throughout this year, we have witnessed the power of collective effort, the magic of shared knowledge, and the beauty of oneness and creativity, we’ve celebrated each other’s triumphs, offered support during challenges, and inspired one another to reach new heights” she started in her speech titled “Rise to excellence: A Toast to Our First Anniversary”.

Continuing, she disclosed that in the course of the year, they’ve organized workshops, and participated in baking competitions, each experience enriching their skills and expanding their horizons.

She enjoined members of the group to look towards the future with excitement and anticipation.

“As we celebrate this milestone, let us also look ahead to the future with excitement and anticipation. The possibilities are endless, and the opportunities for growth are boundless.

“Let us continue to inspire and empower each other, to push the boundaries of our creativity, and to share our passion with the world.

“In the coming year, I envision our group reaching even greater heights. We will expand our network, explore new culinary frontiers, and make a significant impact on the local food scene. We will continue to support emerging talent, mentor aspiring bakers, and promote the art of baking as a form of self-expression and cultural heritage”.

One of the members of the group, Mrs Oluwakemi Okeowo, the creative Director of Kiversworld Catering and Services while speaking on the impact of the group noted that it’s a melting pot of ideas for bakers in the area.

She disclosed that through the forum, she and other bakers alike have come to share ideas, inform each other of opportunities and develop one another.

“The Forum is one of the best things to happen to bakers in this area, we have collectively improved one another through networking; sharing business ideas and collectively growing and expanding our business” she told The Matrix News.

The event also witnessed a keynote address delivered by Mrs Morenikeji, Oshin, Branch Manager, Access Bank, Dopemu Branch who spoke to the enthusiastic bakers at the event on Marketing Strategies

Deserving members of the group like Adekemi Alaba Akinbowale CEO of Fluffy Creamy Confectionaries and Agboje Oluwatosin Mojisola, CEO of Beulah Cake House and Events also bagged different awards.
