Amnesty International Accuses Israel Of Genocide Amid Gaza Conflict

Amnesty International has accused Israel of committing genocide against Palestinians in the ongoing Gaza war, sparking sharp denials from Israeli officials.

The UK-based human rights group released a 295-page report citing “dehumanising and genocidal statements” by Israeli leaders, digital evidence, and witness testimony.

Amnesty’s secretary general, Agnès Callamard, stated, “Israel has treated Palestinians in Gaza as a subhuman group unworthy of human rights, demonstrating intent to destroy them physically.”

Israel’s foreign ministry dismissed the allegations as “entirely false and based on lies,” while the military argued that the claims fail to consider “operational realities.”

In the past 24 hours, at least 50 Palestinians have been reported killed in Israeli strikes, with the largest toll from an airstrike on the al-Mawasi tent camp for displaced people. Israel insists the strike targeted Hamas operatives, accusing the group of using civilians as human shields.

Since the conflict began 15 months ago, following a Hamas-led attack that killed 1,200 people in Israel, over 44,500 people have reportedly died in Gaza, according to the Hamas-run health ministry. The UN has called these figures reliable.

The International Court of Justice continues to investigate allegations of genocide in Gaza, while Amnesty’s report urges the international community to respond urgently to what it describes as “ongoing genocide.”
