Investors in the Nigerian equities market gained N286bn at the end of the trading session on the floor of the Nigerian Exchange Group (NGX) on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, as the equities market recovered from yesterday’s loss.
This followed a surge in the share prices of stocks like GOLDBREW, THOMASWY, and FTNCOCOA amongst others on the trading floor.
After five hours of trading at the capital market, the equity capitalization fell to N59.512 trillion from N59.226 trillion that was recorded by the bourse on Tuesday.

The benchmark All-Share Index (ASI) increased to 98,174.99 from 97,702.56 recorded the previous trading day.
The market breadth was positive as 41 stocks advanced and 21 stocks declined, while 60 stocks remained unchanged in 9,420 deals.
GOLDBREW, THOMASWY, and FTNCOCOA led other gainers with 9.83%, 9.83% and 9.50% growth each in share prices to close at N4.47, N1.90, and N1.96 from the previous N4.07, N1.73 and N1.79 per share.
SUNUASSUR, LEARNAFRCA, and HMCALL led other price decliners with 9.85%, 9.85%, and 9.15% decline each in share prices to close at N4.21, N2.93, and N5.86 from the previous N4.67, N3.25 and N6.45 per share.

On the volume index, TANTALIZER led trading with 88 million shares in 67 deals followed by WAPCO which traded 57 million shares in 1,366 deals.
ACCESSCORP traded 41 million shares in 412 deals.
On the value index, SEPLAT topped as the securities traded stock worth N8 billion in 152 deals followed by WAPCO which traded equities worth N4.2 billion in 1,366 deals.
GTCO traded shares valued at N1.3 billion in 185 deals.
