Asake, Ayra Starr, Odumodublvck Among Nominees For 2025 MOBO Awards

Nigerian music stars Ahmed Ololade (Asake) and Oyinkansola Aderibigbe (Ayra Starr) have been nominated for the prestigious 2025 Music of Black Origin (MOBO) Awards.

The duo earned spots in the Best International Act category, alongside global icons like Nicki Minaj, Beyoncé, and Kendrick Lamar, according to the official shortlist released on Wednesday.

In the Best African Music Act category,Asake seven Nigerian artists, including Odumodublvck, Rema, and Shallipopi, also received nominations.

South African artist Tyla, who won Best New Artist at the BET Awards 2024, is a standout contender nominated in both categories.

The awards also highlight UK talent, with West London rapper Central Cee aiming to become the first artist to win Best Male Act three times, competing with other notable names like Stormzy.

The MOBO Awards remain a prominent platform celebrating Black music and culture globally.
