Court Affirms Suspension of PDP National Vice Chairman Ali Odefa

The Federal High Court in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State, has upheld the suspension of Ali Odefa as the National Vice Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Odefa was suspended on October 4, 2024, by the executive committee of his Oguduokwor Ward in Onicha Local Government Area, Ebonyi State, over allegations of anti-party activities.

However, Odefa challenged the suspension, claiming it was invalid as it was orchestrated by individuals who were not legitimate ward executives.

In the case identified as suit no. FHC/AI/CS/182/2024, filed by Herbert Ovuta against Odefa, Justice Hilary Oshomah ruled that the suspension was lawful. The court directed Odefa to stop representing himself as the National Vice Chairman of the PDP, affirming the validity of his removal.

This judgment reinforces the party’s internal disciplinary process and signals the court’s stance on maintaining order within political structures.
