Southwest Airlines Plane Struck By Gunfire At Dallas Airport

A Southwest Airlines flight preparing for departure at Dallas Love Field on Friday night was struck by gunfire, the airline confirmed.

Fortunatel, according to reports, no injuries were reported among the 99 passengers aboard.

The incident occurred around 9:48 p.m. near 8000 Herb Keller Way, prompting a swift response from the Dallas Police Department.

Southwest Airlines stated that the bullet struck the right side of the aircraft just under the flight deck as the crew was readying for a trip to Indianapolis.

The plane safely taxied back to the terminal and was removed from service for further inspection.

Passengers will be accommodated on another flight, and law enforcement is actively investigating the situation.

The incident follows a recent FAA ban on U.S. flights to Haiti due to escalating violence, including gunfire targeting planes.

Earlier this week, Haitian gangs reportedly shot at three planes, injuring a flight attendant and damaging multiple aircraft.

Authorities continue to prioritize safety measures as investigations into both cases unfold.
