Mercy Aigbe Explains Why She Married Kazim Adeoti As His Second Wife

In a recent interview on *Nollywood on Radio*, Nollywood actress Mercy Aigbe-Adeoti shared her reasons for marrying Kazim Adeoti as his second wife.

She revealed that their union goes beyond personal connection, with both driven by the goal of building a successful production empire together in the film industry.

“That’s one of the reasons I married him, actually,” Mercy explained. “We’re building an empire; I felt I needed someone like that. His experience in the industry combined with mine makes the future of our project look very promising.”

Mercy’s decision sparked backlash on social media, as many critics pointed out Adeoti’s first marriage.

Some claimed Mercy had come between Kazim and his first wife, Funso, with whom he reportedly built his initial successes.

Mercy, who converted to Islam after her marriage in 2022, has faced criticism from both fans and her ex-husband Lanre Gentry, who alleged that she was close to Funso before marrying Kazim.

Despite the controversy, Mercy remains focused on her partnership with Kazim, emphasizing the professional goals they share and their joint efforts in Nollywood.
