Middle East Crisis: President Tinubu Heads To Saudi Arabia For Joint Arab-Islamic Summit

President Bola Tinubu will depart Nigeria on Sunday for Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, to participate in the upcoming Joint Arab-Islamic Summit.

Scheduled to begin on Monday, the summit will focus on the Middle East’s escalating conflict and is hosted at the invitation of King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

According to a statement from presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu is expected to address the summit regarding Nigeria’s position on the Israel-Palestinian conflict, advocating strongly for an immediate ceasefire and urging a peaceful resolution.

“Nigeria will renew its call for the two-state solution as the best path to enduring peace in the region,” Onanuga added.

The President will be accompanied by several high-ranking officials, including Foreign Affairs Minister Yusuf Tuggar, National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu, Information Minister Mohammed Idris, and NIA Director General Mohammed Mohammed.

Following the summit’s conclusion, President Tinubu is scheduled to return to Abuja.
