MC Oluomo Elected As NURTW National President

Musiliu Akinsanya, widely known as ‘MC Oluomo,’ has been elected as the National President of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) following a consensus decision by union stakeholders.

The election took place on Saturday at the NURTW Quadrennial Delegate Conference held at the Zonal Secretariat in Osogbo, Osun State.

Representatives from four southwestern states—Ogun, Lagos, Ekiti, and Ondo—participated in the election, with the national body having designated the presidency to this region.

The acting National President, Aliyu Issa-Ore, represented by Head of Finance Mrs. Adedamola Salam, commended the southwest zone for upholding the union’s constitution by electing Akinsanya.

Additionally, Tajudeen Agbede was elected Vice President of the Southwest zone, and Akeem Adeosun was chosen as a trustee.

After being sworn in, MC Oluomo emphasized unity and peace within the union. “I have forgiven everyone who may have wronged me, and I hope those I have wronged will do the same. We must preserve our union and protect our means of livelihood,” he stated.
