President Bola Tinubu, on Tuesday, officially promoted the acting Chief of Army Staff, Olufemi Oluyede, to the rank of Lieutenant General.
The brief decoration ceremony took place at the President’s office within the State House complex in Abuja.

Tinubu appointed Oluyede as the acting Chief of Army Staff last Wednesday, following the prolonged indisposition of his predecessor, Taoreed Lagbaja. Prior to his appointment, Oluyede held the rank of Major General.
In attendance at the ceremony were Chief of General Staff General Christopher Musa and other high-ranking service chiefs.
