JUST IN: 40 Persons Reportedly Trapped As Building Collapses In Abuja

At least 40 people are reportedly trapped under the debris of a building that collapsed early Saturday in the Sabon Lugbe area of Abuja, Nigeria’s Federal Capital Territory.

Emergency workers and sympathizers have rushed to the scene, working tirelessly to rescue those still beneath the rubble.

The building, believed to be under construction, collapsed in the early hours, prompting immediate calls for support from government agencies and emergency teams.

Witnesses at the scene are appealing for additional help to accelerate rescue efforts. One eyewitness said, “No fewer than 40 persons are currently trapped in a building collapse in Sabon Lugbe. We urge the government and relevant agencies to rescue those still trapped.”

This incident follows another recent building collapse in Abuja’s Kubwa area, where four people were rescued from a two-story structure.
