Shettima Heads To Sweden For Bilateral Talks

Nigeria’s Vice President Kashim Shettima is set to visit Sweden for two days to engage in high-level bilateral discussions on behalf of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. 

Shettima will meet with Crown Princess Victoria, the Swedish Prime Minister, and key stakeholders to strengthen cooperation between Nigeria and Sweden in sectors such as ICT, innovation, education, digitalization, sustainable transport, mining, and agriculture.

Recall that the Special Adviser to President Tinubu on Information and Strategy, Mr Bayo Onanuga, had in a statement on October 2, announced Tinubu’s departure for a two-week vacation.

However a statement by Stanley Nkwocha, Senior Special Assistant on Media and Communications, confirmed that Shettima will also meet with Norrsken, a Stockholm-based venture capital impact investor. 

The meeting will explore how Nigerian entrepreneurs can benefit from Norrsken22, a $205 million African tech investment fund. Notably, 40% of the fund is expected to be allocated to Nigerian tech entrepreneurs.

Shettima will highlight Nigeria’s economic reforms and opportunities to attract foreign investors during his visit. He is expected to return on Saturday.
