PDP Crisis: Court Blocks NEC, BoT From Removing Damagum

In a significant development in the ongoing crisis within the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Justice Peter Lifu of the Federal High Court in Abuja has issued an injunction restraining the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) and Board of Trustees (BoT) from removing Umar Damagum from his position as the Acting National Chairman.

The court order came following a suit filed by Damagum, who was appointed as Acting National Chairman after the suspension of the former Chairman, Iyorchia Ayu. The suit challenged the legality of any attempt to remove him from office.

The court’s ruling has temporarily halted the internal power struggle within the PDP and could have far-reaching implications for the party’s future.
