NAFDAC Seizes N37 Million Worth of Counterfeit Cosmetics In Abuja Raids

The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) conducted raids on supermarkets and open shops in Abuja, seizing counterfeit and unregistered cosmetics worth N37 million. 

In a statement shared on its X handle, the agency said the operation was based on intelligence from its Investigation and Enforcement Directorate.

The seized products were part of NAFDAC’s efforts to eliminate counterfeit and illegally imported cosmetics from the market.

NAFDAC emphasized its commitment to investigating the sources of these illegal items and taking strict regulatory action.

All confiscated products will be destroyed in accordance with the agency’s regulations to ensure public safety.
