Federal Government Begins Payment Of New Minimum Wage To Civil Servants

The Federal Government has commenced the payment of the new minimum wage to civil servants, effective Thursday, September 26. 

The was made known by spokesperson for the office of the Accountant-General of the Federation, Bawa Mokwa, during an interview on Thursday.

He assured that workers would begin receiving payment alerts.

Recall that earlier this week, the National Salaries, Incomes, and Wages Commission (NSIWC) announced that the payment would be retroactive from July 2024, following the approval of the minimum wage bill by President Bola Tinubu after it was passed by the National Assembly.
