Oba Of Benin Declares Two-Week Fasting, Prayers Over Guber Election

All sons and daughters of the Benin Kingdom, as well as natives and foreigners living in Edo State, were invited to take part by the Oba of Benin.

A two-week fast and prayer period has been announced by Oba Ewuare II of Benin in hopes of peaceful elections and a fruitful crop.

The oba invited all sons and daughters of Benin Kingdom, as well as natives and non-natives in Edo State, to take part, according to a citation made by Stanley Obamwonyi, Esere of Benin, on Tuesday.

“From September 26 to October 9, 2024, fasting will take place daily from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.,” the monarch said.

He said there was a need to thank God for the peaceful 2024 gubernatorial election and protection from evil.

The oba also said there is a need to ask God for a bountiful harvest and peace in homes, families, and the state.
